Arriving to Croatia by sea, what are the formalities I need to do?
The owner of a vessel arriving to Croatia by sea must go to the nearest harbour with and international border crossing facility, where personal travel documents will be checked, customs formalities carried out and registration sticker will be issued.
Permanent ports of entry are (from north to south): Umag, Poreč, Rovinj, Pula, Raša – Bršica, Rijeka, Mali Lošinj, Senj, Maslenica, Zadar, Šibenik, Split, Ploče, Meković, Korčula, Gruž (Dubrovnik).
During the summer (April 1st – October 31st) there are ceveral temporary ports of entry (from north to south): Kanegra (Savurdija), Marina Umag – ACI, Novigrad, Sali, Božava, Ravni Žakan (Kornati), Primošten (Marina Kremik), Komiža, Vis (gradska luka), Hvar (gradska luka), Ubli (Lastovo) i Vela Luka.
What are formalities upon leaving Croatia?
Before you leave the country, you must report to one of the harbourmasters office or customs posts and leave Croatian territorial waters using the shortest route.
What documents do I need to make a berth contract in marina Agana?
Decision on annual contract can be made only by marina manager. At the reception you can get information on terms and conditions of annual contracts. If marina has the required berth available vessel owner signs an annual contract. To make a contract we need:
- Registration of the boat
- Insurance policy
- Passport or other personal ID
- Authorization for using the vessel if vessel is registered to a company
- For foreign vessels – copy of vignette and list of persons
- Boat keys
- Inventory list

Your arrival should definitely be announced (VHF channel 17 or phone +385 21 889 411). Member of the staff will meet you on arrival, show you the mooring spot and help you berth. You should hand in boat documents i.e. sailing licence or vignette and the list of persons. We would appreciate if you could mark the persons from the list who are actually on the vessel in order for reception staff to register all passengers to police department and tourist board. After this, you can take magnetic cards you need to use the toilettes and ask for any other services of the marina. Before leaving the marina, you should return magnetic toilette cards settle your bill at the reception.
You must berth your vessel with own ropes, in accordance with staff advice. Ropes should be of good quality and in accordance with vessel size; also they should not be in the way of other vessels passing through this area.
What do I need to know about registering of visitors?
All visitors must check in at marina reception every time they come to the vessel. Marina reception will forward the registration form to the police department and issue registration form for you and all visitors to your boat.
